Welcome to Owls

Welcome to Owls class page! The class teachers this year are Mrs Siddiqui (Monday to Wednesday) and Miss Humphries (Thursday and Friday), and the teaching assistants are Miss Dowsett and Mrs Hodson. We are also delighted to have Mrs Bird working with us Monday to Wednesday!

This is going to be a very busy and exciting year; we have an ambitious and stimulating curriculum designed to prepare the children for secondary education and alongside this, we will have many trips to encourage curiosity and increase our individual opinions.

PE Days

This year our PE days will be Wednesdays and Fridays. Please can children come in to school wearing the correct school uniform as shown on the website.

Spellings

Spelling is taught Monday-Wednesday, and the children will take the words home on Monday to prepare for a quick test on the Wednesday. At the beginning of every term, they will also bring the termly spelling sheet which children can keep at home as an extra resource in addition to their spelling books.

Reading

Reading is vital in enabling your child to understand the world around them and to evaluate how reliable information they come across online is. Children are expected to read for at least 15 minutes per day but they can choose to read either their book, or an article online that may be of interest to them. Please record your child’s daily reading on our online reading portal ‘Learning with Parents’.

Curriculum

Please keep an eye out for our termly class letter at the beginning of each small term; it will have details of our curriculum.
